That was 18 months ago. The only hitch was I didn't have a proper corner or room for my craftwork. Thankfully, now after moving to our new home and after a great hubby shopped for the long awaited table, I am up at full speed with my cardmaking.

I have also found an active group of crafters on Facebook Scrapbooking and Cardmaking Malaysia. This month were are doing a tag swap. I'm. needless to say, thrilled to the bone.
Below are some cards I made way back in 2011/
Today I will have to post my handmade cards to St. Luke's Hospice before I really forget. I hope to be able to continue cardmaking once I get settled in Kuala Lumpur. Something which I doubt will happen easily, with so many friends to catch up with and so many things and places to do! I have left Malaysia for far too long.
Looking forward to the move but feeling a bit sorry for myself for not being an expat wife anymore.Sandra Umpanghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01065228491420613355noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5491096801150691560.post-77484131869086295322011-06-06T14:50:00.000+01:002011-06-06T14:50:48.796+01:00Sandra's Card Village: Dried UpSandra's Card Village: Dried Up: "It was inevitable! Finally, I ran out of juice and my Muse was nowhere to be seen. I wanted to make cards but uninspired and with a glut of cards in my shoebox, finally I succumbed to a day of just tidying up my cardmaking boxes and storage. I found out I've loads of scrap left and noticed I had some folded cards ready to be decorated. So, please find below, the cards I've created from bits and bobs in my box.
After submitting my first ever to St. Luke's and receiving such encouraging support from their team, I've decided to submit another card in. Couldn't help myself. This time I've toyed with a more "masculine" look and decided to go for one of my favourite creatures, the dragon. I've stamped it using Stampin' Up spots (razzleberry, I think) and the papers came from Costco. I used a foiled die cut sentiment after finding out my stamped greetings were too large for the surface I intended. hahahahaha
When I get high and dry on ideas, I resort to just cutting with my scissors while I wait for my Muse to return. Unlike stamping, decoupage only needs a pair of awesome scissors and glue. My favourite decoupage are Joanna Sheen's House Mouse series. They're so cute.Sandra Umpanghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01065228491420613355noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5491096801150691560.post-67013510934907552862011-06-02T14:13:00.002+01:002011-06-02T14:21:38.498+01:00St. Luke's Card Challenge: Come Fly with MeHere's my first ever submission to a cardmaking challenge. I was quite touched by the efforts of St. Luke and thought what a great idea it was to make cards as a way to chip in and help with the cause.

The theme for this challenge is Come Fly with Me and I've decided to stamp a stork making a delivery. It's using a mixture of products; the stork is stamped with kaycee stamps and coloured in with promarkers and the clouds with blue and baby pink chalks by dovecraft. The paper is a combination of Stampin' Up baja blue and the stripe paper by doodlebug design inc. 1286 baby boy ribbon stripe. I've also punched the border with Martha Stewarts' punch. I've also used a grosgrain blue ribbon to finish the details.
I just got a boxful of Stampin' Up goodies from Stacey and started right away with my Fox and Friend stamp set. Here I used Pumpkin Pie colour on the monkeys and stuck in on the scalloped circle with a foam glue. Stamped the birthday greeting with my new Stampin' Up sentiment stamp, too. Inside (though not obvious, I have stamped several images of the monkeys randomly all over the page.Sandra Umpanghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01065228491420613355noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5491096801150691560.post-19638350295802129132011-05-23T23:04:00.005+01:002011-05-24T09:13:12.897+01:00
I had a lovely evening out at Royal Windsor race course with Emma today. So that's one evening without card making but I enjoyed watching the horses thunder down the tracks. I noticed, too, how wonderfully colourful the jockeys' outfit were. Time to incorporate those in my cards?

I've included a card which I made several years ago when I started making cards under the guidance of Henriette Gabriels. She taught me iris folding. The technique involves lots of colour combining and that's the best bit of cardmaking for me.

The colours used on this cards were fiery shades of orange and the corners are punched. Thank you Henriette for sharing with me what is to become a passionate addiction.Sandra Umpanghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01065228491420613355noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5491096801150691560.post-9994679738313388492011-05-23T12:51:00.003+01:002011-05-23T14:17:19.438+01:00
Couldn't resist sharing another card with you. Here's one done in a slim card (which my son thought really yucky for a card shape). I beg to differ and think it's really a good shape and size especially if you're going to make lots of it. More suitable for invitations and thank you notes.Sandra Umpanghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01065228491420613355noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5491096801150691560.post-46496515998721189672011-05-23T12:35:00.005+01:002011-05-23T12:43:45.787+01:00
Here goes! My attempt at keeping a blog about my addiction. No, not Farmville, hehehehe... The other addiction which is my cardmaking activity. The card on the left is done with stamping technique using chalk to colour in. It went to Down Under especially for my niece's newborn son, Phoenix.

I'll post more photos of my cards once I get the hang of this blogging thing (very slow learner).Sandra Umpanghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01065228491420613355noreply@blogger.com0
